We have extracted our first crop of 2023 and it is dandelion honey. In Canada we have 4 or 5 mono-floral honeys. These are honeys that come predominantly from one flower.
These include Buck Wheat honey, Basswood honey, Black Locust Honey , Dandelion honey and once in a blue moon, Mustard Honey. The majority of honey produced is referred to as multi floral since it is a combination of a multitude of plants. The monofloral honeys are less abundant for a variety of reasons.
